Compliments for Prof Messy and friends

I would like to thank you for the very professional performance by "professor messy" and the very well organized science workshop!

I have to admit I thought the show is very expensive - but the delivery was of very high standards! I also appreciated the fact the performers arrived well in advance to make sure the set up is done on time.

Your teams were very friendly, and made sure the kids had a lot of fun!

I would definitely recommend you to my friends!!!

With warmest regards,

Adi

Compliments for N2

We truly appreciate your support towards our recent event held in conjunction with the "Singapore Association for the Visually Handicapped" to celebrate and raise funds for the "International White Cane's Day" Carnival.

The success of the event was made possible by the professionalism of your staff who was both skillful and entertaining in coming up with creative balloon sculptures.

Much as the event attendees enjoyed the sculptures, our staff were also similarly thrilled by his balloon sculptures.

We look forward to future opportunities to work together.

Once again, we appreciate the participation of "Mr Bottle's Kids Party" at the event.

Compliments for Mr Bottle, N2 and Twinkle

Anyway, I wasn't at the venue for the entire event but during my moments there while you were doing your show, I can say it's very very good indeed. Very entertaining and you even see all the kids engrossed with the show and parents with smiles and laughter all around. Keep up the work and continue to improve.

Also a big thank you for the facepainter who stayed longer than she was required to and N2(Balloon Sculptor) for ensuring all the kids enjoyed themselves and stopped bothering their parents for quite a period.

So all in all, it was a great success and my client left on that day a satisfied client.

Thank you very much. :-)

Compliments for Twinkle Artists

I am writing on behalf of my team to thank you and your team for the amazing face-painting last weekend. The face-painters managed to do full face-painting quite fast and it was really popular among the little ones. It was a pleasure working with you and we look forward to working with you again in the near future.

Mr Bottle in Shanghai!

Mr Bottle had such a great time in Shanghai! For the last show, Huang Junjie (黄俊杰), a Taiwanese magician and Mr Bottle decided to swap acts and see how they handle it. Of course, nobody realise that, but the magicians and crew were laughing non-stop when Mr Bottle try to copy Junjie's lines.

Here's the video, plus other interesting clips at Happy Valley!

Mr Bottle in Shanghai!

Since I am performing at a theme park, I wanted to have that carnival mood so I made balloons as giveaway for during my show. I experimented with new designs.

Here's a mini elmo! I love it so much that I will probably only make mini elmo next time!

One of the staff's kid! She is so cute.... everyone's darling!

Mr Bottle in Shanghai!

Who's that?!
With the magicians and production team...

One of my performances is the night combine show which consists of 3 magicians and a variety of acts like acrobats and dances.

Taking photo with a little fan.... Actually, it's incredible that someone actually from Inner Mongolia recognise me from TV! (Mr Bottle was in Inner Mongolia just in June.)

Mr Bottle in Shanghai!

Mr Bottle is very happy that Singapore flag is up flying! (Although this one looks a little wrong...)

Here's one of the video taken at the Press Conference by the local media:

Mr Bottle in Shanghai!

Mr Bottle was in Shanghai recently during China's Golden Week to perform for 9 days at Happy Valley magic festival, together with international magicians!

Here's Valerie and Gilles from Switzerland and France!

My buddy, Huang Junjie, who is the winner of Big Brother Variety Show! We had so much fun that we decided to do each other's acts on the last day of our performance!

With Albert Tam from Hong Kong!

Famous Illusionists, Franz Harary who design illusions for Michael Jackson and David Copperfield.
Shanghai magicians are there too! We had a sumptuous dinner then at a 40-seater table, the biggest and grandest I have ever seen!
I even had a great chance to visit the Shanghai World Expo 2010. (Let me know if anyone needs some tips!)

Of course, I got to visit some of the landmarks of Shanghai! I will show you some of the videos of the press conference as well performance photos soon!

Mount Faber

Mount Faber is such a gem! Other than the usual view that you get of Singapore from the top, you will also find very interesting historic stories about the hill at Mount Faber. Try to find these when you are up there:

1) Do you know that there are only 5 official Merlions in Singapore and 1 of them is in Mount Faber. You can see 1 other big Merlion from Mount Faber too!

2) Spot a "ship" that is "stranded" on the top of this "mountain".

3) Spot a red and white communication tower... don't mistaken it for Tokyo Towers!

4) A lot of people didn't know this beautiful building (below) is in Mount Faber (Pender Road). It's the Danish Seaman Church!

5) Lastly, you can find a few of Singapore's unique Black and White colonial houses on the way up.

Pulau Ubin

Have you told your kids what Singapore looked like in the 50s or 60s? It probably looked like Pulau Ubin!

Families can rent bicycles cheaply there at one of the many rental shops and they will even provide maps for free. However, there's are certain steep slopes that one must look out for!

My personal favourite is House No. 1 or the English Cottage. Now restored, it shows information about Chek Jawa, one of the nature gems of Singapore.

You can try to spot different animals like wild boars (there's one domesticated if you cannot find any in the wild), mudskipper and a crab with a big claw!

Science Centre

I love the Science Centre! We were very lucky to have performed at the magic exhibition there hence had a lot of chances to visit the place.

In fact, I love the outdoor gardens! Kids can easily spend about an hour playing around the outdoor exhibit. My favourite is the dragon optical illusion in which one can see the dragon head move! The garden is open 24 hours! (of course it gets a little too dark at night!)

Bottle Tree Park

What is really love about this place is the vast amount of place that kids can run about. This place is not related to Mr Bottle however!

One can find really unique bottle-shaped trees native to Australia. Families can do activities like fishing and of course, eating at their famous seafood restaurants there!

Supermarket

What?! A supermarket as an outing?

A trip supermarket can be made fun too! Create a shopping list for your kids and ask them to find the items in the shortest time possible! If you have 2 or more kids, you can have a competition!

Of course, there are some very important rules you must tell the kids like no running, no disturbing other shoppers, etc!

Changi Coast Road

Did your kids like aeroplanes? I am sure they see the inside of the planes all the time but how about when the plane takes off?

I think the best place to see it is at Changi Coast Road. You can actually see the underbelly of the planes at the edge of the runway.

You can park at the Tanah Merah Country Club or rent a bicycle and cycle all the way from East Coast Park!

Enjoy!

St John's Island

This is another great one day getaway for the family. There's a few trekking routes that your family can go on. If you are lucky, you can even see the Rafflesia flower there! (It's rare because full bloom only last about 3 days and it takes at least 1.5 years to reach it.)

Rafflesia is the world's largest flower and named after Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles, the founder of the British Colony of Singapore.

Go to Kusu Island with your kids

Kusu Island or Tortoise Island is a small island off Singapore. I was really lucky to be able to go there because of an event.

Well, it's a small island but it's a great place to spend an idly time with your family. (Avoid the pilgrimage seasons when devotees go there in droves.) Bring a picnic basket and mat and set up tent by the beach! Kids can freely run around too.

You can tell your kids the legend of Kusu Island as you arrive at the Island. (Legend has it that a giant sea turtle turned into an island to save 2 shipwrecked sailors - a Malay and a Chinese. As an act of thanks, the two men built a Chinese temple, Malay shrine and a huge turtle sculpture on the island. Source: New Asia Singapore)

Take Photo of F1 Car

I figured that would be out-of-reach for most people! But you can find replicas of the F1 car around Singapore! Bring your kids there and take photos with these instead.
  • Cycle and Carriage (Mercedes) showroom at Alexandra Road. - (I hope it's still there!) It's the most authentic one that you can find for free!
  • Comm Centre -
  • Singapore Flyer - These life-size F1 cars there are made of cardboard!
  • Borders Bookstore at Wheellock Place - We made a lifesize F1 car out of balloons and it is on display at the bookstore along Orchard Road. Here's a picture of it!
Here's the process of making a F1 Car!

Let me know if there are more places you can see these cars!

P.S. I knew that Comm Centre has a stimulation F1 car game, is it still there?

Go on a food trail with your kids...

I know kids don't eat much and don't really care what they eat (most of the time at least!). One way to go on a food trail is to make it fun for the kids! Personally, I feel that architecture of old shophouses along Balestier Road has a lot of stories to tell. Hence you can make it like a treasure hunt for your kids! Ask your kids to look for:
  • A pillar with guards holding guns
  • A kiosk which dispense free water to people
  • Count the number of stalls that sell Bak kut Teh
  • Locate all the Tau Sar Piah stalls in the area
  • Find a charming restore building call "Old Place" (Lao Ti Fang)

When they are tired, you can always find food to nimble on. Continue your hunt once you are rested!

You can find more information and ideas at http://www.ura.gov.sg/rediscoverSpore/pdf/balestier.pdf

What did you do during your school holidays?

Mr Bottle always wonders what do kids do during their school holidays? Mr Bottle loves to walk around Singapore to experience and see new things! He has found many hidden treasures in Singapore that may be suitable for kids too!

We will start a one month series on fun, interesting and educational places that kids can go... (with their parents!). If you have ideas, email us at marketing@kidsparty.com.sg

During the school holidays, Mr Bottle performed at Bukit Panjang Plaza for the kids! It's not the usual "magic on the stage" but street magic! It's a great experience because magic is done right up close for everyone! We had such a big crowd on some of the sessions! (Usually street magic is for a small group!)

I like the caption too: "The famous magician, Mr Bottle, will astound you with his bag of tricks, as long as you can find him."

Indeed, some kids came running around looking for Mr Bottle! Some shoppers were probably wondering who is man in Black and White!

Praises for Mr Bottle

Dear Mr Bottle

I was just beginning to draft an email to Pamela (marketing) to help convey my heartfelt thanks to you for putting up such a fabulous show for my Asher last Saturday. Your show lingers in our mind even now.

What other parents have posted on the web is true - your company is indeed reliable and high standards is assured. We were all pleased with the service you have rendered.

Just like many parents who embark on throwing a party for their kids, we were concerned about making the party entertaining for both the kids and adults, and also to make the party a special one for our son. It was a trying journey looking for a company to run a magic show and provide some other forms of entertainment such as balloon sculpting, face painting etc. The main worry was to engage someone who doesn't turn up promptly, deliver less-than-satisfactory service or worse, make us lose face for being too corny, impatient etc.

The good feeling I got from your company started when I began corresponding with Pamela, your marketing agent, about the range of services your company provides. Pamela is not only pleasant to talk to, she is also patient and forthcoming in helping me understand the services your company provides thus enabling me to make informed decision on the package to sign up for. She even helped me find out where to get the Spongebob pinata for the party and after checking with a few stores, that was the last one available in Singapore!

Then, came the party. Right from the moment we met, it was a comfortable and reassuring feeling to have engaged you for the party. You were so patient with the rowdy kids and professional in your magic tricks and balloon sculpting that there was none at the party who was not awed by you. What impressed me most was how you helped me settle the kids when I was still busy setting up the party and later coordinated with my timing to make the entertainment captivating for everyone.

What I like is your personalised service. Not only are you good in your balloon sculpting and magic tricks, you were able to account for every kid at the party and approached them to 'place an order' for a balloon sculpture. That was beyond my expectation as I was about to do so for you. In addition, during the show, I could see very clearly how you handle the emotional aspects of our young audience and not to turn their into a laughing stock for the adults. As I am someone who research much into child psychology, I am very particular about ensuring every kid's physical and emotional welfare is taken care of. You have demonstrated much understanding of child psychology through your treatment towards them: gently managing the active ones; constantly encouraging the shy ones; and patiently answering the inquisitive ones.

You have simply managed to take care of the young and old at the party and everyone sang praises about you that night after you left. Now my younger son, Benedict, has already told me that he wants you for his 8-year-old party and we do not know if he can so that long to see you again. =)

It has been a great pleasure meeting you.

Best regards
Adeline

Praises for Prof Messy!

We had Prof Messy at our party last Saturday. He turned up earlier to ensure the place is right and proper for his show. The 12 kids were totally thrilled, although my daughter Ariel has watched him twice. Ariel had a very naughty friend, a boy who would rebutt everything Prof Messy said. But he was cool and professional and did not show he was annoyed with the boy's numerous questions and remarks.

I will certainly recommend this to my friends. If you have more and different tricks, we will be happy to have you over again.

Best regards,
Angeline Tan

Praise for Prof Messy!

Your science show was unique and wonderful. Your entertainment made party more enjoyable and memorable. Adults and children Of all ages liked the show. Everybody was asking your name and number. Even our condo's security guard took your card from me. Thank you very much.

Another great party by Marco!

Would appreciate if you could relay the message to the team that involved on the event. It was really a great job!!! Both the kids and adults enjoyed themselves.

Frankly speaking, initially I felt your price was kinda steep as compared to the market. However, the Dino thingy was something that really attracts me with the fact that my boy loves Dino. Now, I think it is really worth it!! It's a memorable party. Especially, Marco's magic. The kids still can't get over it. Some even commented that this is the best party that they ever attended!!!
Thank you.

Regards
Catherine

Praises of our Mascot Cast

Thank you for helping us make Krishas' 1st birthday a fantastic event! I was very pleased in engaging your company, you were able to connect with the kids, even if they were very young.

The sound system was a big plus point because I've been to birthday parties where the party was a complete mess just because the host couldn't control the situation. In terms of games, I preferred the games you played in the second half of the show, where there was more interaction.

To sum up, you did a very good job! Looking forward to seeing you in our next event! Thanks

(Note from Mr Bottle's Kids Party: This party was challenging because it consists mostly of young kids who are about 2 years old! Our experience in dealing in young kids definitely makes a difference!)

Can you decipher this? Answer....

The pictures say: Mr Bottle was teaching magic to kids and a fishie tank appeared and a fishie appeared!

Simple isn't it? :P

Thursday, August 19, 2010

Can you decipher this?

Can anyone read what it says? We will tell you the answer in the next post! (The person with the B on top is Mr Bottle.)
